Mission
PACK OF HOPE EXISTS TO ERASE CHILDHOOD HUNGER IN MCLENNAN COUNTY BY SUPPLYING PARTICIPATING SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND THEIR ELIGIBLE STUDENTS WITH BACKPACKS FILLED WITH NUTRITIOUS FOOD TO PREVENT HUNGER FROM FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY WHILE THEY ARE NOT IN SCHOOL.
Program accomplishments
- THE WEEKLY DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD PACKS DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR TO PARTICIPATING SCHOOL CAMPUSES AND THEIR QUALIFYTING STUDENTS. THE PACKS ARE DISTRIBUTED EACH FRIDAY TO STUDENTS WHO FACE FOOD INSECURITY AT HOME AND QUALIFY FOR FREE BREAKFASTS AND/OR FREE AND REDUCED LUNCHES. DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR, PACK OF HOPE SERVED APPROXIMATELY 939 STUDENTS IN 18 SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND DISTRIBUTED A TOTAL OF 29,000 PACKS OF FOOD.Expenses $258,330 · grants $258,330
