Program accomplishments

  • Youth Rugby Development Program Minnesota Youth Rugby expanded access to safe and inclusive rugby programming for youth across the state. The organization provided coaching, equipment, and structured training sessions to support the development of fundamental rugby skills and sportsmanship. Through partnerships with local clubs and schools, the program offered seasonal leagues, clinics, and introductory sessions that engaged approximately 350 youth participants. These activities promoted physical fitness, teamwork, and positive youth development while increasing awareness and participation in the sport of rugby statewide. Coach and Referee Training Program To strengthen program quality and safety, Minnesota Youth Rugby delivered specialized training and certification opportunities for volunteer coaches and referees. Workshops and instructional sessions equipped 18 adults with the knowledge and tools needed to deliver age-appropriate, safety-focused rugby instruction. These efforts improved consistency across clubs and enhanced the experience for all participants. Community Outreach and Growth Initiatives The organization conducted outreach events, school demonstrations, and community engagement activities to raise awareness of youth rugby and encourage new players to join. These initiatives reached an estimated 110 families and educators, helping build a more inclusive and diverse rugby community. Efforts also included providing financial assistance to ensure that cost was not a barrier to participation.
