Mission
TO ADVANCE AND IMPROVE THE TOURISM AND HOTEL INDUSTRIES IN THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS, BY SUPPORTING AND PROMOTING HOTEL TOURISM IN THE CITY OF AUSTIN AND BY ALL OTHER MEANS, AND TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY FOR AND INCIDENTAL TO THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF THE PURPOSES AND GOALS OF THE CORPORATION.
Program accomplishments
- THE AUSTIN TOURISM PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (TPID) FORMALLY LAUNCHED IN JANUARY 2025 AND BEGAN A SERIES OF MONTHLY BOARD MEETINGS TO ESTABLISH THE OPERATIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR THE DISTRICT AND DEFINE THE STRATEGIC DIRECTION FOR THE BOARD. SINCE ITS FORMATION, THE AUSTIN TOURISM PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (TPID) BOARD HAS MADE SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS IN ESTABLISHING THE ORGANIZATION'S OPERATIONAL BASIS AND STRATEGIC DIRECTION. THESE EFFORTS HAVE BEEN DRIVEN BY THE AUSTIN TPID BOARD'S COMMITMENT TO ACTING ON BEHALF OF TPID MEMBERS WITH URGENCY AND STRATEGIC FORESIGHT. MADE POSSIBLE BY TPID, VISIT AUSTIN LAUNCHED ITS FIRST-EVER ADVERTISING STUDY WITH SMARI INSIGHTS FOR THE SUMMER 2025 CAMPAIGN, A TOURISM INDUSTRY LEADER IN MEASURING ADVERTISING EFFECTIVENESS AND ECONOMIC IMPACT. THE STUDY ALSO REVEALED OUR CAMPAIGN WAS HIGHLY EFFECTIVE IN INFLUENCING TRAVELER PERCEPTION, AS RECALLED EXPOSURE TO VISIT AUSTIN ADS MORE THAN DOUBLED THE SHARE OF TRAVELERS WHO VIEW AUSTIN AS AN EXCELLENT OR VERY GOOD TRAVEL DESTINATION.
