  • I RECEIVED A CALL FROM A VERY NICE WOMAN AT SAWMILL A FEW WEEKS AGO WHO WAS INTERESTD IN KNOWING IF I INTENDED TO CONTINUE MY MISSION, IN SO MANY WORDS. I HAD TO SHARE THAT FEBRUARY 2023 UNTIL APRIL OF 2024 WERE THE MOST DIFFICULT TIMES IN MY LIFE AND FOR MY ENTIRE FAMILY. I ALSO EXPLAINED THAT I TRIED TO KEEP MARY, ANNIE AND JULIE ALWAYS AWARE OF WHAT WE WERE GOING THROUGH. SHE TOLD ME THAT HER INTEREST WAS INTERNAL. I EXPLAINED TO HER THAT IN 2023 STARTING IN FEBRUARY THROUGH JUNE, WE WERE DEALING WITH MY HUSBAND, BOB'S HEART THAT NEEDED MORE THAN A FEW OFFICE APPOINTMENTS, HOSPITAL STAYS, AND ABLATION PROCEDURES AT WHICH TIME AN EMERGENCY PACEMAKER AND MEDTRONIC DEVICE WERE REQUIRED. AT THE SAME TIME, I WAS PREPARING FOR A KNEE REPLACEMENT UNTIL APRIL 5TH AT WHICH TIME A MAMMOGRAM REVEALED A POTENTIAL TUMOR. AFTER BIOPSIES, ULTRASOUNDS, AN ECHOCARDIOGRAM, MRI, GETTING THE SURGEON AND ONCOLOGIST VISITS SET UP,I WAS STILL ABLE TO GIVE A THREE-HOUR TALK TO ALL THE RCIA AND CCD TEACHERS ON AUGUST 14TH AT ST. MARTHA'S PARISH WITH 10,000 FAMILIES IN TEMECULA. ON SEPTEMBER 20TH MY PRIMARY DOCTOR DIAGNOSED TRIPLE NEGATIVE BREAST CANCER. SURE ENOUGH, SHE WAS RIGHT, AND I HAD A LONG TALK ON OCTOBER 6TH WITH THE ONCOLOGIST TO DECIDE WHAT THE TREATMENT MUST BE...CHEMO OR RADIATION, AFTER A DIFFICULT BUT SUCCESSFUL LUMPECTOMY SURGERY ON NOVEMBER 17, 2023. ON DECEMBER 20, 2023, I SAW MY SURGEON AGAIN AND ON JANUARY 15, 2024, THE ONCOLOGIST RECOMMENDED I GO TO THE CITY OF HOPE IN TEMECULA TO START RADIATION UNTIL THE END OF FEBRUARY 2024. WHAT DISAPPOINTED ME MOST OF ALL IN THIS WHOLE CANCER SEEMINGLY NEVER- ENDING PROCESS WAS THE FACT THAT I HAD TO CANCEL 3 IMPORTANT SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS. I WAS INVITED BY DIRECTOR RACHEL NOEL TO ST. MARTHA'S TO SPEAK TO ALL THEIR CATECHISTS; I WAS INVITED TO SPEAK TO A VERY LARGE CATHOLIC WOMEN'S GROUP AT ST. THOMAS MORE PARISH BY EVIE PILKINGTON IN IRVINE; AND I WAS ASKED TO GIVE MY MIRACLE TALK TO OUR LADY QUEEN OF ANGELS BY MARY JANE TELFER IN NEWPORT BEACH. I HONESTLY THOUGHT RADIATION WOULD BE A BREEZE AND THAT I COULD FULFILL MY ASSIGNMENTS BUT AFTER 20 TREATMENTS, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FOR 5 WEEKS I WAS COMPLETELY WIPED OUT. I INTEND, GOD WILLING, TO SET UP THOSE SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS AGAIN IN 2024. I WAS IN AUSTI THIS MAY 31ST, WHERE I WAS AKSED TO GIVE A FEW HOURS TO WOMEN'S ROSARY GROUP. IT WAS DELIGHTFUL TO GET BACK INTO GOD'S WILL AND TO SEE THE SMILES ON MY SISTERS IN CHRIST. ONCE HOME AGAIN IN MURRIETA, ON JUNE 5TH, BOTH MY SURGEON AND MY ONCOLOGIST GAVE ME A CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH. NO MORE CANCER, AND I AM NOW READY TO ROLL AGAIN. I WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK AT POPE PAUL VI HIGH SCHOOL IN SOUTH RIDING, VIRGINIA AND TO MARIN CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL IN KENTFIELD, CALIFORNIA. I'VE SPOKEN TO BOTH HIGH SCHOOLS AND LOVE THEIR POLITE STUDENTS AND COMMITTED TEACHERS. WHILE IN RADIATION I SIGNED UP FOR FR. MIKE SCHMIDT'S READING THE BIBLE IN 365 DAYS. ALSO, I WROTE ADDITIONAL MIRACLES TO ADD TO MY MIRACLE TALK. I AM NOW FAMILIAR WITH ANITA AT BIRTH CHOICE TEMECULA, AND SINCE I HAVE STARTED COUNSELING YOUNG WOMEN RECENTLY TO GIVE THEM HOPE AFTER ABORTION, I'M GOING TO TRY TO GET ON THE 24-HOUR NATIONAL HOTLINE WHICH IS FREE CONFIDENTIAL HELP. VOICE OF VIRTUE WILL NOW ENJOY HAVING AN ALLIANCE WITH SOME OF THE MOST RECOGNIZED MINISTRIES IN THE UNITED STATES I WAS ASKED TO COLLABORATE WITH A TEAM INVOLVED WITH THE MAGIS AND NAPA INSTITUTES, MATTHEW KELLY'S OFFICE AND PARISH LEADERS IN ORANGE COUNTY AND IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. THE FOCUS WILL BE OUR PODCAST WHICH IS A CRITICAL CONTACT IN THIS CULTURE. WE HAVE A TECH IN PLACE AND WILL BE USING FR. SPITZER'S MEDIA TEAM. THE ALLIANCE IS WORKING ON OUR NAME, MISSION, STRATEGY AND TACTIC.
