Program accomplishments

  • One of the primary goal of this organization is to preserve historical items donated to this museum. It collects, protects, and exhibits the material culture of Meigs County. This requires facilities which are dry (no water leaks), low to no humidity, temperature controlled, and adequate storage space. In fiscal year 10/1/2024 to 9/30/2024, this organization received a $500,000 donation for new elevator installation. Also, during the prior fiscal year, this organization received a $250,000 grant for capital improvements. Every expenditure has to be accounted for and must be related to the overall purpose of the grant. During this fiscal year some capital improvements to the museum included $196,730 for renovations, $8,050 to RVC Architects, and $2,500 for garage door repairs. These renovations will allow for the preservation of the historical items entrusted to the care of this organization.
