Mission

The Voices School For Liberation and Transformation exists to provide a spirit-filled, decolonized higher education learning community centered in the cultural context of black, indigenous and people of color.

Program accomplishments

  • The Voices School - connects students with a network of scholars who live what they teach. Learning takes place in the convenience of an online platform and the community of a local cohort. Through mentoring and modeling, professors support students in the discovery of God and self in a context that honors their history and affirms their culture both individually and collectively as people of color. Students are challenged and equipped to think and engage deeply with purposeful action, embrace authentic faith, and embody and promote justice within their communities, nation, and throughout the world.
    Expenses $20,646
  • The Voices Project - exists to influence culture by training and promoting leaders of color. The Voices Project gathers leaders of color who work and pursue change - through the church, education, art, media & entertainment, politics or business - for important conversations about the current challenges and triumphs within communities of color and our role as cultural influencers. We provide insight on how to be effective in leadership within one's respective area of cultural influence in a way that is rooted in the history and experience of people of color. We advise organizational and institutional leadership on the self-reflection and correction needed to better support and retain leaders of color and we connect leaders of color to leadership opportunities that are based in their areas of expertise within a domain of cultural influence.
    Expenses $17,280
