THE MISSION OF JMR IS TO PERFORM HUMANITARIAN SEARCH, RESCUE, AND RECOVERY SERVICES IN ANY CLIMACTIC CONDITION AND IN ANY SITUATION COMPATIBLE WITH TEAM CAPABILITIES; PROMOTES WILDERNESS SAFETY AND ACCIDENT PREVENTION TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC; PROVIDES TEAM MEMBERS WITH TRAINING, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE.

  • DURING 2024, JUNEAU MOUNTAIN RESCUE(JMR) CONDUCTED THIRTY RESCUE MISSIONS THROUGHOUT SOUTHEAST ALASKA. IN ADDITION TO SEARCH AND RESCUE, JMR PROVIDED SEVERAL PUBLIC EDUCATION SESSIONS AND WORKED JOINTLY WITH THE U.S. COAST GUARD, SKIPATROL, SEADOGS AND CCF/R SPECIAL TEAMS IN MISSIONS AND TRAININGS.
