Mission

Provide leadership to develop Prairie Pines as a site of natural resource conservation for education, research and recreation for all.

990 for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • The Prairie Pines Partners (PPP) continued to increase free open to the public days at the Prairie Pines Natural Preserve (PPNP). It is now open to the public three days weekly, year around from 9 AM - 5 PM. There were nine nature-based educational events and a fundraising run/walk. The grounds and Visitor Center are also utilized on other days for occasional, scheduled community meetings and use including the Meadowlark Music Festival. In addition, we continue to involve K-12 and collegiate academic programs and others on the site. Our three main areas of expense are for programming/education, public access/property management and administration/salary.
    Expenses $6,465 · revenue $3,595
  • Prairie Pines Partners continues to focus on their mission, that of Prairie Pines Nature Preserve (PPNP) and the donors wishes. These encompass wildlife habitat, natural resource conservation, environmental education, contact with nature and public access. PPNP has been jointly managed by Prairie Pines Partners and Wachiska Audubon (owners) since 2024. Management by two like-minded nonprofits brings new potential and responsibility. We continue to collaborate with other educational institutions and organizations including Nebraska Wesleyan University, Lincoln Public Schools, Nebraska Game & Parks, Conservation Nebraska Community Crops and Wachiska Audubon.
