Mission
Our Mission: Reduce oceanic plastic pollution through Research, Innovation, and Direct Action.
Program accomplishments
- The organization advances its mission to reduce oceanic plastic pollution through three core initiatives: the Environmental Plastic Assessment Program (EPAP), the Portable Plastic Waste Conversion (PPWC) project, and Education & Outreach. The EPAP program collects and analyzes data on marine and coastal plastic debris, engaging volunteers and partner organizations in cleanup operations and surveys throughout the year. These activities generate valuable research data while fostering public awareness and community participation in ocean conservation. Through the PPWC project, the organization designs and deploys portable systems that convert collected plastic waste into usable products or energy sources, demonstrating innovative and sustainable waste management solutions. The Education & Outreach component complements these efforts by promoting environmental awareness, sharing research findings, and encouraging responsible practices to reduce plastic pollution. During FY25 COI reached approximately 550 people through Education and Outreach.Expenses $133,707
