Program accomplishments
- During this period, 83,943 members joined our support groups sharing resources, utilizing our educational materials, along with seeking guidance from other families and professionals. We enhanced our website with more downloadable content, allowing for easier access to our free resources and education with over 1.1 million website views. Apraxia Kids continues to enhance programs and resources for our families such as our Insurance Advocacy Guide which was designed to provide families and therapists with resources and information to help advocate for insurance coverage. In addition, our interactive IEP Road Map (individualized Education Plan) and our Parent Portal continue to be utilized by our apraxia community. All of these resources are FREE of charge providing families and caregivers the necessary resources to guide them as they navigate their apraxia journey. Our annual conference was held virtually in 2025 with 704 individuals worldwide in attendance. Virtual educational sessions, resources and social engagement activities were available throughout the live portion of the conference. We provided scholarships to 67 families in need of support to attend our National Conference to further their education. In addition, we awarded 3 scholarships to graduate students studying to be a speech language pathologist. We continue to find ways to invest in community outreach developing statewide resources for our families. Our national Walk for Apraxia events were in person offering a virtual option for families to raise awareness and donations in 62 cities with over 8,500 participants. We continued our speech tablet program, distributing speech tablets, protective cases and applications to children from low to moderate income families.
