THE ORGANIZATION'S PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE IS TO PROMOTE PROFESSIONALISM AMONG POLICE OFFICERS AND TO PROVIDE SERVICE TO THEIR COMMUNITIES.
Program accomplishments
- LEGAL AID FUND - VOLUNTEER CONTRIBUTIONS BY MEMBERS HELP TO DEFER LEGAL EXPENSES INCURRED IN THE LINE OF DUTY. PROMOTES THE FOP'S EXEMPT PURPOSE BY PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO MEMBERS.
- THE FOP EMPLOYS A LOBBYIST TO INFORM THE STATE LEGISLATURE ABOUT ISSUES IMPORTANT TO THE FOP'S MEMBERSHIP.
- OTHER COMMUNITY PROJECTS - GRANTS GIVEN TO LOCAL LODGES FOR LOCAL PROJECTS. POLICE MEMORIAL PROJECT IN NASHVILLE AND OTHER CITIES. OTHER CIVIC AND COMMUNITY PROJECTS. PROMOTES PROFESSIONALISM AND COMRADESHIP AMONG OFFICERS AND CITIZENS.
