Program accomplishments

  • Annual meeting and Conference - with a keynote speaker, 3 tracks containing a total of 24 workshops to choose from, over 300 commissioners attended these information sessions on wetlands protection, wildlife habitat protection and trail building. This is funded by sponsorships and a small registration fee.
    Expenses $27,486
  • Intern work and training project - towns applied for an intern to help with specific Conservation Commission Projects. They received a stipend through the grant. they worked on trail building and maintenance; and/or administrative needs;
    Expenses $23,711 · grants $18,400
  • Lunch and Learn series workshops: Conservation commissions let us know topics of particular interest to them. NHACC finds presenters, often volunteers, and creates virtual workshops to cover these topics. NHACC members can usually attend for free. Topics include pollinators, wetlands assessment and protection, wildlife habitat, town land management, among many others. These are recorded and available to all commissions. These are popular and well attended with 60-70 participants per workshop. Also, offering field training two or three times a year, such as Trail Design and Maintenance for Conservation Commissioners, in cooperation with AMC, last fall, which was very well received. Funded through membership dues and donations.
    Expenses $18,719
  • Listserv - continuing from last year and becoming more popular as many commissions request information from other commissions which offer answers. Activities, events, and guidelines are also shared through this convenient means. NHACC monitors these conversations and offers assistance as needed. Funded through membership dues donations.
    Expenses $10,200
  • Provided informational assistance with approximately 100 Commissions, answering approximately 225 phone calls; sharing information, resources, and providing consultation on issues directly facing Commissions. Funded through membership dues.
    Expenses $15,114
