Mission
TO RAISE FUNDS FOR AND TO INCREASE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE LIBRARY'S PROGRAMS AND SERVICES, ENCOURAGE THE LIBRARY'S GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT, AND STRENGTHEN AND EXPAND THE APPRECIATION OF THE BARRINGTON PUBLIC LIBRARY AS A CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE TO THE COMMUNITIES IT SERVES.

- PROVIDED FUNDING TO THE LIBRARY THROUGH PUBLIC CONTRIBUTIONS AND FROM LIBRARY SPONSORED ACTIVITIES FOR THE INTENDED SUPPORT TO THE BARRINGTON PUBLIC LIBRARY WHICH IN TURN PROVIDES BENEFIT TO BOTH STUDENTS AND THE PUBLIC WHO USE THE LIBRARY.Expenses $36,492 · grants $500
- PROVIDE A 500 SCHOLARSHIP ANNUALLY TO BARRINGTON HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE. THE BHS SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE CHOSES A RECIPIENT BASED ON AN ESSAY CONTEST ON THE ROLE THAT THE BARRINGTON PUBLIC LIBRARY PLAYED IN THEIR EDUCATION FOR GRADUATING BARRINGTON HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS. ALL WINNING ESSAYS ARE PUBLED IN GREET BARRINGTON AND THE FRIENDS WEBSITE.
