Mission

FAN offer opportunities for youth affected by the child welfare system to cultivate their interests and talents, develop new skills, and find personal and collective validation in a hopeful environment.

990 for the year ended June 30, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • Serving youth impacted by the child welfare system between the ages of 9-16. Participants get to create an environment where their voice is engrained in the culture. Participants learn leadership skills, the impact of trauma and toxic stress on our young people, positive coping methods to deal with everyday stressors, and equip them with the skills to manage their stress and choose healthy decisions and behaviors. Established in 2020, as a response to COVID-19, our community pantry now serves over 18000 meals annually in partnership with organizations such as Families4Families and Family Medical. The pantry provides access to prepared meals, fresh produce, non-perishable items, and wellness items available to community members daily.
    Expenses $341,341
  • The Caregiver Support program offers workshops and peer support events for caregivers of youth program participants. Caregivers are able to establish community and learn communication techniques to stay engaged in youth participants lives. Caregivers are also provided emergency direct support in times of need. Serving former after-school program (alumni) participants by offering monthly workshops, social gatherings, and direct support to disseminate helpful college- and life-related information and informal peer support. This program provides space for those participants 16 and up to grow into their fullest potential by offering individual support around employment & educational life choices.
    Expenses $141,966
