Mission
TO REPAIR HOMES FOR ANYONE QUALIFIED AT NO COST TO THEM USING DONATED FUNDS AND LOCAL VOLUNTEERS, CONTRACTORS, AND SUPPLIERS. SERVING SOUTHERN CHESTER AND LANCASTER COUNTIES, PA AND NORTHERN NEW CASTLE CO, DE.
Program accomplishments
- IN 2025, WE REPAIRED 235 HOMES IMPACTING 365 INDIVIDUALS WHICH INCLUDED THE ELDERLY, SINGLE MOMS WITH KIDS AND THE DISABLED. WE MADE HOMES SAFER FOR THE ELDERLY BY REPAIRING STAIRS AND FLOORS AND INSTALLING BATHROOMS WITH GRAB BARS AND SAFE ACCESS. WE MADE HOMES HEALTHIER FOR FAMILIES BY REPAIRING LEAKING ROOFS AND WINDOWS AND STOPPING MOLD GROWTH. WE HELPED THOSE WITH DISABILITIES MORE EASILY GET AROUND BY INSTALLING RAMPS, DOORS,AND ROLL IN SHOWERS. MUCH OF THIS WORK WAS DONE BY 200 VOLUNTEERS WHO GAINED A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE COMMUNITY AND A FEELING OF CONTRIBUTING IN A MEANINGFUL WAY. THIS REPAIR ACTIVITY TAKES THE CRUSHING BURDEN OF EXPENSIVE HOME REPAIRS OFF THE BACKS OF THESE FAMILIES SO THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN FOOD AND MEDICINE OR GETTING THE ROOF FIXED. HOMELESSNESS DECREASES AS THESE HOMEOWNERS CAN NOW STAY IN THEIR HOMES. IN ADDITION, BLIGHT IS REDUCED, PROPERTY VALUES GO UP AND THE NEIGHBORING COMMUNITY IS ENHANCED. AS A RESULT OF THE WORK OF GOOD NEIGHBORS, THESE LOW-INCOME FAMILIES ARE NOW SAFER, HEALTHIER AND MORE HOPEFUL.Expenses $1,611,061
