Pt VI, Line 7b Certain rights are reserved to members of the organization, including: 1) elect the Board of Directors, including the voting delegate to the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, 2) adopt amendments to the Articles of Incorporation, and 3) adopt amendments to those bylaws designated as member bylaws. A sub-committee, comprised of non-conflicted Board of Directors, annually receives all conflict of interest information, reviews, and determines if there are conflicts of interest. The committee then reports its findings back to the Board. Pt VI, Line 19 The Organization does not make its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, or financial statements available for public inspection. Pursuant to state law, some documents may be available to members. Other Part III, Line 4a - Policy - The organization functions as a grassroots network for engaging in local, state and federal public policy, education and communications that impact their membership. Throughout the year, legislative town halls are attended to advocate for agriculture. An annual survey is distributed to members to obtain thoughts and opinions on issues affecting them. Legislative meetings and policy education sessions were hosted for members both in person and virtually throughout the year to help members understand issues facing agriculture today. Other Part III, Line 4b - Ag Promotion and Outreach - The organization promoted agriculture to members and the general public in various ways. The organization purchased print, outdoor and radio advertising throughout the year that promote livestock and row crop production as well as advocating for agriculture to the 102,000 residents of the county. The organization hosts an appreciation meal and social gathering in August for all members. Woodbury County Farm Bureau is a strong supporter of agriculture education to people of all ages, but in particular, elementary students in the county. The organization provides materials and an ag-in-the classroom coordinator to lead in-person educational sessions in all primary schools in the county, September through May, reaching over 2,500 students on a monthly basis. The organization also hosts a media appreciation activity where leaders deliver meat and cheese trays to over 10 area media outlets. Plus, the organization promotes agriculture through activities it does and sponsors during the County Fair in August, reaching 80,000 attendees. Scholarships were also awarded by the Organization to eligible high school seniors. Other Part III, Line 4c - Membership - The County Farm Bureau operates a membership program that provides members with access to educational resources, industry updates, and opportunities for professional engagement. During the year, the County Farm Bureau served members, offering a structured platform for networking, training, and participation in mission-aligned initiatives. Membership benefits included access to educational workshops, digital publications, volunteer opportunities, and member-only events, all designed to support the professional growth and community involvement of participants. The Organization also hosted workshops, webinars, and community events. Membership revenue supports the Organizations broader mission by funding outreach efforts, program development and operations. The membership program promotes engagement, strengthens community connections and expands awareness of the Organizations activities.
