Pt VI, Line 6 The organization has members. Any person may be a county Farm Bureau member. All county Farm Bureau members have voting rights and the same access to member benefits. Pt VI, Line 7a The organizations members elect the Board of Directors. Pt VI, Line 7b Certain rights are reserved to members of the organization, including: 1) elect the Board of Directors, including the voting delegate to the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, 2) adopt amendments to the Articles of Incorporation, and 3) adopt amendments to those bylaws designated as member bylaws. A sub-committee, comprised of non-conflicted Board of Directors, annually receives all conflict of interest information, reviews, and determines if there are conflicts of interest. The committee then reports its findings back to the Board. Pt VI, Line 19 The Organization does not make its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, or financial statements available for public inspection. Pursuant to state law, some documents may be available to members. Other Part III, Line 4a - Policy - The organization functions as a grassroots support network for engaging in public policy education and communications affecting their membership. The organization promoted our issue surfacing and issue prioritization process by getting members to participate through electronic surveys. Board of Directors met with the County Supervisors to review the budget and ask for additional funding for county rural roads and bridges. Lobbied local, state, and national legislators several times throughout the year at local town hall meetings and Days at the Capitol on member policy. The County Farm Bureau invited members to attend the Annual Meeting and membership appreciation at the Opry House in Fort Dodge. Members were given the opportunity to elect the board of directors, review the financial report, and another chance to submit input on policy. Other Part III, Line 4b - Membership - The County Farm Bureau operates a membership program that provides members with access to educational resources, industry updates, and opportunities for professional development. During the year, the County Farm Bureau served members, offering a structured platform for networking, training, and participation in mission aligned initiatives. Membership benefits included access to educational workshops, digital publications, volunteer opportunities, and member only events, all designed to support the professional growth and community involvement of participants. Membership revenue helps support the Organizations broader mission by funding outreach efforts, program development, and operational capacity. The membership program continues to promote engagement, strengthen community connections, and expand awareness of the Organizations activities. Eight scholarships were awarded to local county students and presented during awards assemblies and the organization provides membership dues for Agriculture in the Classroom programming in local schools. Other Part III, Line 4c - Promotion - The organization was active in developing relationships in the community to bridge rural/urban differences. To help celebrate National Agriculture week during March, the County ran advertisements in local newspapers and boosted posts on social media informing the public about the number of jobs in the county that are related to the agricultural industry, crop and livestock production, and farmland acres owned. It is estimated that thousands of listeners were impacted by radio advertising. County donated woodchips for 4-H and FFA livestock exhibitors, conducted a Youth Tractor Pull, provided free watermelon, and a sweet corn feed meal with all proceeds being donated to county food pantries. The County Farm Bureau was the primary sponsor of the Webster County Fairgrounds for new gates for the swine, goat, and sheep show barn. The County donated a gift basket of branded merchandise for a youth in agriculture fundraiser as well as purchased chapter jackets for the new local FFA chapter. The County furnished refreshments for two private pesticide educational trainings. The organization donated to and promoted local food pantries in the Winter. County board members presented branded souvenir basketballs and softballs to local qualifying high school teams. The board sponsored basketball games in which attendees received free popcorn. Provided a virtual experience from a combine-harvester to students in the classroom.
