Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 All governing documents are available to the public upon request, including previous filings and incorporation documents. Form 990, Part IX, Line 11g Consist of fees paid to independent contractors for professional consulting, event planning, and production facilitation. This is the organization's first year filing a Form 990 as a recognized tax-exempt entity under Section 501(c)(3). As a newly established nonprofit, our organization encountered significant complexity in completing the return accurately and in full compliance with IRS requirements. Specifically: * Our staff and volunteer leadership were navigating the Form 990 reporting requirements for the first time, including proper categorization of revenue, expenses and program service accomplishments. * The organization was simultaneously establishing its internal financial controls, accounting systems and recordkeeping procedures necessary to support accurate reporting. * We sought guidance from an outside accountant to ensure the return was prepared correctly, which required additional time to coordinate and review. We acted in good faith throughout this process and made every effort to file as promptly as possible once all required information was compiled and verified. The delay was not due to willful neglect, but rather the unavoidable learning curve associated with first-year compliance obligations. We have since taken steps to strengthen our internal processes to ensure timely filing in future years, including [e.g., engaging a nonprofit accountant on retainer / establishing an annual filing calendar / other steps taken]. We respectfully request that any penalties assessed be waived in consideration of the above circumstances. We are committed to full compliance going forward and appreciate your understanding.
