The total cost for the tour was $193543, which amounts to $2150 per student. This covered airfare, hotels, food, ground transportation, activities, and competition fees. The choir went on a weekend retreat and brought along 110 students 110 13844 The students were brought on the retreat. Schedule I, Part I, Line 1 The organization brings students enrolled in music classes on tours and to performances and competitions. The organization covers the travel costs of all the participants. Schedule I, Part I, Line 2 The organization gives scholarships to all students in the band or choir who wish to participate in our concert tours, to cover their travel costs. We pay the tour operators directly, so the student recipients don't get cash grants -- rather they are included on the tours, retreats, and performances. Schedule I, Part III 1) the choir tour to New York had 90 participants. It was a non-cash grant which included all their tour costs. The organization spent $193543 in total for the tour. 2) the choir retreat had 110 participants. It was a non-cash grant which included their transportation, food, and lodging for the weekend treat. The organization spent a total of 13844 for the retreat. 3) The band tour cost the organization a total of $7125 Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6 The organization does not have membership fees, per se. Everyone who donates any money to the music boosters is considered a member, and all the donations are used to support the organizations goals. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The form 990 was filled out by the current choir treasurer based on financial documentation assembled by the current choir treasurer, the past choir treasurer, and the current band treasurer. It has not been reviewed by other members of the organization, though all the financial information (books, bank statements) has been made available to the board. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 Documents and financial records are available by contacting the organization president or treasurer. We are a volunteer high school booster organization, run by parents. We had a changeover in the treasurers between the end of the tax year and the filing deadlines, and the books took a while to put in order for the new (current) treasurer. My apologies.
