Since they are familiar with, and live in the same community with the individual making the request, they are better placed to verify the validity of the request. If they approve it, they present it to the Mother-To-Mother Fund Committee. The Committee then reviews the request, asking for such corroborating information as is needed to verify the request. If they approve it, they determine the amount of the grant. At that point the privacy of the individual is respected and no further monitoring is carried out.
