These programs are designed specifically for the individual needs of our wounded heroes as they return to active duty or assimilate back into the civilian population. We hold several events throughout the year. Three (3) things make our golf outings unique; (1) We invite Wounded Heroes, as our guests, to play with the paying foursomes. Wounded Heroes are those injured in post 9/11 combat (Purple Heart recipients), those who have or are suffering from PTSD, and those with traumatic brain injuries. We ensure awards are given based on the criteria we have established and we approve where the donations are spent to ensure (to the extent possible) that our grants are supporting Wounded Heroes in, or with a connection to, the South Carolina Lowcountry or Georgia Coastal Empire. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b All members of the Board receive an electronic copy of Form 990 and associated worksheets for review prior to submission. After review, Board members may have questions or they may make note of errors (or potential errors) that may require correction. After all necessary changes, if any, are made and all questions are answered to Board members' satisfaction, Form 990 is submitted. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12a As of the end of 2025, and primarily because we are an all-vounteer organization, we did not have a Conflict of Interest policy. However, as of the submission of this f990, we now have a Conflict of Interest policy that has been approved by our Board. These three options give those interested a variety of ways in which to obtain a copy of our annual and/or amended filing. As an all-volunteer organization, in 2025, we did not have a formal conflict of interest policy in place but as of this filing a C of I policy has been developed and approved by our Board. Financial statements and governing documents are made available to the public upon request. Form 990, Part XII, Line 2a In the first quarter of 2026 we engaged an independent accounting firm, specializing in nonprofit accounting, to conduct a formal review of our financial statements. The year-over-year differences primarily in Part VIII, Line 1, Contributions and Grants are due to a change in presentation and reclassification of revenue (and expenses). For 2025, over $129k in revenue is now reported in Part VIII, line 8 and is a direct result of the financial statements review. This reduction in Contributions and Gifts also impacted our public support percentage in Schedule A, Part II, Section C, Line 14. Again, these changes are a result of year-over-year reporting changes only. The nature of our programs / events and operations, etc. remain exactly the same. Form 990, Part XII, Line 2c For fiscal year 2025, we felt we had grown to a point where it was important to engage an ndependent accountanting firm, specializing in nonprofit accounting, to conduct a formal review of our financial statements. As a small, all-volunteer organization, our committee of two (2) interviewed approximately five (5) firms and made a recommendation to the Board to engage the selected firm. Throughout the process, the Board was kept informed and the review was completed in early April, 2026. A copy of the final Financial Review report was provided to each Board member and is now available on our website.
