Form 990EZ Part III Line 28 Produce and publish a monthly full-color newsletter that educates, informs, and engages members about the cultural significance of the UP Railroad and the historic UP Depot while promoting community events and educational experiences hosted at the depot. Membership has grown to more than 300, alongside an expanding print newsletter subscription. Reader feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with one subscriber sharing, "I read the whole newsletter every month with my family and pass it on because it is so interesting." Combined with distribution through corporate members who display copies in their waiting rooms, the newsletter is estimated to reach two to three times its subscriber base. Despite operating only four months each year, the historic depot continues to attract 600 - 800 visitors and approximately 250 school children annually, providing interactive educational programs that preserve local history, foster community engagement, and deepen appreciation for the regions railroad heritage. Form 990EZ Part III Line 29 Design and install plumbing, electrical distribution, and HVAC systems to transform the historic depot into a fully functional, climate-controlled venue capable of accommodating indoor public events year-round. In 2024, with support from a Historic Preservation Foundation grant, we completed the engineering and architectural drawings and specifications for the installation of electrical distribution, plumbing, utility piping, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Completing these critical infrastructure improvements will enable us to more than double the depot's public benefit by expanding year-round community programming, educational opportunities, and public engagement while preserving this important historic resource. Form 990EZ Part III Line 30 Preservation / enhancement of the Historical UP Depot while restoring its original footprint and architectural beauty in accordance with State Historical Standards.This is a program that is a testament to an all-volunteer organization including the generous time and effort of our local volunteers.We are recapturing the beauty of the architect's original vision with a clear focus on leveraging the functionality of each restored and improved area as we pursue the objectives of our documented strategic business plan. The success of our volunteers is contributing to their pride in their work and the pride of the community in our accomplishments which can be judged by our growing membership and funding.
