Six community members attended and gained valuable insights into the home-buying process. Topics covered included types of mortgage loans and the documentation required, budgeting and the pre-approval process, and the steps from making an offer to closing. The session provided attendees with a clear and practical understanding of what to expect when purchasing a home. 1.b. Mill Park Community Outreach The opening of the Mill Park Community Garden marked an exciting new chapter for community engagement and green space in East Portland. Located at 1949 SE 122nd Avenue, the garden was created to serve as a welcoming place where neighbors can grow food, build relationships, and connect with nature. We were proud to welcome 34 gardeners as the first members of this vibrant space. During the celebration, guests explored the garden plots, met fellow community members, and learned how to get involved in this shared effort to cultivate a healthier, more connected community. This project was made possible through a close collaboration with Portland Parks & Recreation. From planning and design to outreach and implementation, we worked side-by-side to ensure the garden reflects the needs and values of the surrounding community. 1.c. Division Midway Alliance Craft Session DMA launched its first craft session series. Over the course of five sessions, participants explored the art of creating wildflower paper. From cutting delicate petals to assembling beautifully crafted blooms, each session offered a hands-on, creative experience. The atmosphere was filled with energy and inspiration, and the unique flowers made by participants showcased their growing skills and artistic expression. 1.d. Trimet Focus Group DMA facilitated nine TriMet Safety Focus Groups, each with 810 participants and conducted in four languages: Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Persian/Farsi. These sessions engaged a diverse group of community members including transit-dependent riders, occasional riders, and non-riders to gather insights on perceptions of safety, security, and cleanliness on TriMets public transportation. Participants shared their experiences, voiced their concerns, and offered thoughtful suggestions for service improvements. This initiative fostered meaningful community dialogue on key transit issues. We extend our appreciation to TriMet for their support, and to our facilitators for ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment throughout the sessions.</ExplanationTxt>
