Form 990, Part XI, Line 8 During the tax year, the organization completed its separation from the national Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) organization and began operating as an independent state affiliate. As part of this transition, the organization's beginning net asset balance was adjusted to reflect the allocation of assets and liabilities between the national organization and the state chapter. The prior period adjustment of ($101,795) represents the net effect of this separation, including assets retained by or transferred to the national organization that were previously reflected on the state chapter's books. This is a one-time adjustment related to the organizational restructuring and does not reflect an error in prior year reporting. The organization underwent a significant structural change during the tax year when it separated from its parent association and began operating independently. As part of this transition, the organization established its own financial records and engaged new accounting services for the first time. During this transition period, there was confusion among board members regarding the filing deadline applicable to the organization as a newly independent entity.
