<ExplanationTxt>In 2015 the organization received an $80,000 contribution and in 2016 a $68,000 contribution, the total of which equals the permanent endowment of $148,000. The earnings on the investments, less investment fees, are to be used for education for children in Nepal who evidence the most financial need. The balance of the restricted endowment at 12/31/25 is on Part X,line 28 (Donor Restricted). The total represents the permanently restricted endowment of $148,000 and $47,382 restricted for future educational needs. According to the terms of the endowment agreement, in the first quarter of each year, management will calculate the excess of the previous years endowment funds balance over the corpus. During the second quarter of the year, the organization will transfer that excess into its operating bank account, 10% of which can be used as unrestricted funds and 90% which is set aside for the benefit of the children. In 2025, a total of $47,382 was allocated to the restricted fund with $5,265 of the funds to be used for administrative expenses.</ExplanationTxt>

<ExplanationTxt>Pt. III, line 4 - Statement of Program Accomplishments: OVERVIEW: We provided funding for programs in education, healthcare, housing, and support services, for 161 underprivileged children ranging from preschool age through university level in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal. We provided oversight and coordination for our programs in partnership with NGO partner in Nepal, Bhuvaneshwori Satyal Foundation (BSF). In Nepal, our children finished the school year and advanced to higher grades. Further, we had ten graduates who obtained jobs and became independent of Mitrata support. They obtained bachelors degrees in business studies, social work, and travel and tourism. Additional accomplishments are: 1. Sustained uninterrupted education, nutrition, and healthcare services for 161 children despite political unrest and economic instability in Kathmandu. 2. Fully-operated both Contact Centers (30 children in Banasthali and 18 in Swayambhunath), providing Montessori-inspired education, daily meals, hygiene care, and health monitoring. 3.Transitioned more than ten Contact Center graduates into elementary school sponsorships, ensuring long-term academic stability. 4. Supported students across all levels: day and boarding school (grades UKG-10), grades 11-12, and university/vocational students. 5. Launched ten graduates into independence after completing their bachelors degree or vocational program, preparing them for sustainable careers. 6. Strengthened alumni engagement, reaching 70 total vocational/university graduates. 7. Expanded mental health support services and successfully restructured staffing after key transitions. 8. Deepened sponsor engagement through two Nepal trips, including visits to the Contact Centers and several day and boarding schools. 9. Raised significant funds through Miles for Mitrata Kids, the Seattle and St. Louis Trivia Nights, and the Holiday Bazaar to sustain the Contact Center and educational programs. 10. Advanced five-year strategic goals focused on board growth, donor expansion, program evaluation, and long-term financial sustainability. ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN NEPAL: BSF is an established NGO with 22 employees and fully-funded by Mitrata. They have grown into a successful social service organization with an excellent reputation in Nepal with the Social Welfare Council and the community. Contact Centers - Two Contact Centers, located in Kathmandu, served as a 6 day per week school readiness program preparing 48 children of varying young ages to attend school for the first time. The population served includes children documented to be from low SES families such as itinerant workers or migrants. These children are considered the most vulnerable in Nepal and often do not get enrolled or complete school without assistance. Child Sponsorship Program: All children were sponsored and fully-engaged in school programs. The children received extra tutoring, family and individual counseling, career counseling, healthcare services, and annual checkups. The children were taken on numerous field trips and cultural trips to widen their educational experience.Staff was increased in the areas of mental and physical health in order to expand needed services to children. Elementary School Children: Thirty children in Class UKG through Class 10 were supported with both housing and education and attended boarding schools (or other hostels) throughout Kathmandu Valley. We supported another 39 children for their education who lived at home often with a single parent. Six children passed the Secondary Education Exam (SEE)which is required to continue education in 11th grade. 11th-12th Grade Children: Twenty-one children in 11th and 12th grade attended various schools depending on their areas of focus. Post 12th Grade Children: Through an individualized approach and our commitment to support each child into adulthood, 17 children attended universities in the fields of tourism, social work, education, information management, finance law, engineering, and business management. Graduates from Our Program: Ten children completed their education and received bachelors degrees in diverse fields of engineering, education, business, psychology, finance, and tourism and were able to obtain jobs and become independent of Mitrata. Alumni: There are now 70 alumni who are regularly contacted by BSF. More Support Services: Many of our families continued to struggle financially and needed more social, emotional, and environmental support. Children received workshops on health, self-esteem and finance and career counseling. After School Program: The after-school program served children in our programs whose parents are not available after school for supervision. Children received extra tutoring and enjoyed activities at both Contact Center locations. Government School Program: For the first time Mitrata supported six children attending government schools for education and support services. Medical Care: All children obtained annual checkups, dental and vision care and benefitted from onsite counseling as well as psychiatric and addiction recovery services when needed. When children needed surgeries and treatments, they were cared for by Mitrata and assisted by Mitratas nurse. ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN USA: Candid, Better Business Bureau, and Charity Navigator: We continue to be a Gold Star Transparency Candid, Better Business Bureau and Charity Navigator accredited charity. Non-Voting Advisory and Young Professionals Boards: We had ten advisors, three Young Professional volunteers, and 12 non-board committee members. Scholarship Fund: We continued this fund. With many children going on to college, and rising inflation rates, we recognize the need to help offset the extra costs to care for children of college age. Many colleges add extra fees for exams, preparatory courses, internships, and field trips, and often require laptop computers. Endowment Fund: We continued to manage this fund which is held in perpetuity and invested, with the annual returns used to provide educational support for our children. Nancy Williger Legacy Circle: We welcomed five more donors to the Legacy Circle, hosted a Legacy Circle event, and accepted our first Legacy Circle member donation. Mitrata Sustainability Fund: We established a quasi-endowment fund for future sustainability and to ensure operational and program continuation into the future.Cultural and Oversight Trips: Nine child sponsors and two staff members participated in the fall Sponsor Trip to Nepal. Two board members attended the work trip to Nepal in the spring. Ten children were graduates in the all-day graduation celebration which was attended by 150 of the other children. Sponsors visited the programs and met with their sponsored children and explored the culture and beauty of Nepal. USA Fundraising and Community Awareness Events: Mitrata hosted three in-person fundraising events, the St. Louis Trivia Night, Seattle Trivia Night, the St. Louis Holiday Bazaar, and a virtual Miles for Mitrata Kids. We also hosted a picnic for M4MK and board members provided community outreach at several organizations.</ExplanationTxt>
