The program serves approximately 20-25 teens annually and provides educational enrichment designed to encourage students' interest and development in STEM-related fields. Part III, line 29 Through the 100 Black Men Partnership/STEM program, young scholars are introduced to science, technology, engineering and medicine. The program culminates in a STEAM- posium event where young scholars receive hands on experiences with different stem and medical fields, providing opportunities for educational exploration and exposure to potential career pathways. Part III, line 30 The Black KARE initiative raises awareness about chronic kidney disease in African American communities. The program focuses on increasing community awareness and understanding of chronic kidney disease and promoting health education among African American community members. Part III, line 31 The Links in Pink program raises awareness of breast, colorectal, and ovarian cancer among African American women. The program promotes health awareness and education regarding cancers that disproportionately affect African American women. The Health and Human Services program executed a Black Family Wellness Expo for the community. The event provided access to onsite blood pressure, mental health, and dental screenings. Community partners and vendors were also present to provide information and resources addressing long-term care needs. The Arts program presented Quilting for Keeps: Comforting those with Cancer in Ghana, an event designed to provide support and comfort to individuals affected by cancer through an arts based community activity.
