We assist almost 20,000 low income and former TANF families in Philadelphia by subsidizing child care for almost 30,000 children. The ELRC also conducts the Commonwealths Keystone STARS quality improvement program for child care providers, helping them to achieve educational excellence and financial stability. We serve elementary, middle, and high school age children. These services are available at our North, West, and South Philadelhia Boys and Girls Clubs. Many of our programs are modeled after national Boys and Girls Clubs of America guidelines and standards. Our after-school programs following guidelines and standards set by the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, PA State licensing, Philadelphia Department of Human Services Out of School Time program, as well as numerous specific requirements for operating funded programs. Our Boys and Girls Clubs include after school and full day summer camp, teen programs, educational programs, STEM programs, and trips. We participate in Pennsylvanias Keystone STARS program and have achieved the highest STAR 4 rating at both of our child care centers. We provide child care for children from 3 to 5 years of age, funded by federal Head Start, Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts, and Philadelphia PHL Pre-K. We provide breakfast, lunch and a snack and are open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM to accomodate working families. All programs include a variety of learning activities, gross and fine motor activities, arts, technology, swimming, music, and a variety of fun and educational trips. Parents are actively encouraged to volunteer with the program.
