IBCFPRS has two program services, the largest of which is the certification of international surgeons in facial plastic surgery. IBCFPRS expense and reimbursements of $81597 were used to support this program in 2024. Certification is a two-part process. Candidate surgeons submit operative experience, licensing, and credentials for peer review. They also sit for a must pass a two-day written and oral examination. They examination is given in collaboration with the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS), a 501(c)(6) non-profit which provides the certification in North America in the area of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. In 2024, 10 surgeons met the standards set by the IBCFPRS and were certified in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, bringing the total number of IBCFPRS diplomates to 198. IBFCPRS also makes available to its diplomates for purchase, a certificate suitable for framing which displays their certification by the IBCFPRS. In 2024 13 diplomates ordered certificates, for a total payment of $2250. The IBCFPRS is a small non-profit with a staff of three people, who are also in charge of the administration of the ABFPRS (The American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery). The ABFPRS' bookkeeper passed away suddenly this spring and the IBCFPRS's bookkeeper had to step in and take over those duties temporarily. This caused a backlog in the administration of IBCFPRS' administration and a delay in preparing and submitting the 2024 990 form.
