Nurse Interns - This grant supported stipends for trained nurses to provide care to children in the Pediatric Department of Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe Malawi. An initial grant supported 8 nurses for 6 months; and a subsequent grant supported 10 nurses for 3 months. The children admitted to the Pediatric Department were benefited by receiving care from an appropriate nursing staffing component. 9200 9200 Patient Monitors - Purchase of 10 patient monitors for the Pediatric Department of Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe Malawi. These monitors support accurate assessment of thousands of patients seen in this department. 7500 7500 Registrar Stipend - One year of stipend support for a pediatrician in training. This grant allows them to focus on care of children and advancing their training. 6000 6000 Locums Overtime Staffing - This grant supported clinical coverage for the Pediatric Department of Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe Malawi. It supported locums for more than 350 hospital shifts. The children admitted to the Pediatric Department were benefited by receiving care from an appropriate Clinical Staffing component. The goal of this grant is to reduce preventable deaths by filling gaps in staffing coverage. 4970 X 4970 Renovation of Nurses Break Rooms - The purpose of this grant was to improving the Nurses break rooms in the Pediatrics department of Kamuzu Central Hospilal.
