In 2023, Compass served 30 students through its full-time and part-time microschool programs. These students-many of whom come from low-income households or face learning challenges-were supported through personalized instruction, small group learning, and engaging, project-based enrichment. Scholarship Accessibility: To ensure equitable access, 98% of our students received financial assistance through Florida state scholarship programs. These scholarships, awarded based on income and learning needs, allow students who would otherwise be underserved in traditional systems to thrive in a nurturing, nontraditional learning environment. While some families may pay a reduced tuition amount not covered by the scholarship, Compass remains committed to keeping education affordable and inclusive.Student FL Scholarships Compass Outreach and Education Center is located in Florida, where 98% of students receive government-funded financial assistance to help cover tuition costs. These scholarships are awarded based on factors such as household income and documented learning disabilities. Families apply directly to the state for these scholarships, and when approved, the state pays Compass Outreach and Education Center on their behalf. These funds are not considered donations. In some cases, families may still be responsible for paying a reduced portion of the tuition, as the scholarship may only cover part of the total cost. 89453 0 0 On April 13, 2023, a historic 1-in-1,000-year rainfall devastated South Florida, with Fort Lauderdale-and Compass Outreach and Education Center-hit especially hard. Our building was flooded, leaving only the physical structure intact while everything inside was destroyed. Despite this, we acted quickly to secure a temporary location, ensuring learning continued with minimal disruption. Through the dedication of our staff, the support of our community, and the resilience of our families, we maintained full enrollment, continued to provide high-quality instruction, completed renovations within 90 days, and emerged stronger than before.
