Through our CommuniTrees Program, we planted 351 5-gallon trees at community sites throughout Austin, mainly in targeted, disinvested neighborhoods. Our Ready, Set, Plant! Program reforested degraded riparian zones with 14,979 trees through the help of 1,119 volunteers, with a significant portion planted in high-priority areas. Our NeighborWoods Program distributed 6,151 container trees to 2,856 adopters and volunteers, and provided extensive education to ensure tree survival. Our Central Texas Floodplain Reforestation Program(CTFRP) reforested 57.51 acres of degraded floodplains throughout the 7-county region of Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson Counties, planting 51,206 trees at 14 sites, which will sequester approximately 6,136 tonnes of CO2 over the next 25 years. In addition to the long-term environmental benefits of reforestation, the program also generated revenue through the sale of carbon credits, representing a growing source of unrestricted support for TreeFolks.
