Dr. Kanne is in frequent communication with the Executive Director and construction manager, Daniel Dominguez Ixtuc, of Last Sendas, the partner organization on the ground in Guatemala. Dr. Kanne selects the projects for which grants are made by first meeting,along with Mr. Dominguez, the community leaders to assess their proposal, taking into account their needs and vetting their community's capabilities for providing their own invested capital and ongoing maintenance. A detailed accounting of each project is provided to Dr. Kanne as the project is under construction as well as upon completion. He also visits the medical clinics and assesses medical needs for which his organization can be of assistance.
