We also distribute a weekly eNewsletter, spotlighting local businesses, events, volunteer opportunities, and government news. LNA successfully revived Nicollet Open Streets in 2024, reinforcing our commitment to a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly corridor. This event builds on our long-standing placemaking efforts along Nicollet Avenue, strengthening its role as a community hub. LNAs Pillsbury Farm Donation Garden provided 635 pounds of fresh produce to the community. We oversee four community gardens, three of which are plot-based, supporting food security and community connections. Additionally, LNA staff and adult English students collectively rode 1,762 miles on eBikes, promoting sustainable transportation.LNA fosters engagement between residents and local businesses, connecting them with grant funding to strengthen commercial corridors. In 2024, LNA helped businesses secure funding for two new murals along Nicollet Avenue, celebrating its cultural vibrancy. LNA facilitated communication between neighbors developers, and city officials regarding key land acquisitions and zoning changes. We also led community discussions on safety concerns, working with stakeholders to address them.LNA engaged 125 volunteers, who contributed 3,056 hours to community projects spanning education, sustainability, and events. We collaborated with four neighborhoods to engage residents in the New Nicollet Redevelopment project, formerly the Kmart site. Additionally, LNA organized a school board candidate forum, partnering with Southwest Minneapolis neighborhoods to provide a platform for informed civic engagement.
