CSID organized one second virtual training seminar (webinar) for about 60 Tunisian lawyers on January 19, on the protection of lawyers committed to defending human rights, under international laws. CSID participated with other human rights organizations in organizing a conference on Combatting impunity and defending political prisoners in Tunisia, in Paris on February 10. CSID brought 3 lawyers to Geneva and Paris to attend parts of the UN Human Rights Council meetings and meet with various human rights lawyers and organizations. CSID has identified SIX (6) Part III, line 28 continued lawyers and entered into an agreement with them to support their work and their legal defense of political prisoners in Tunisia. CSID also organized several meetings with Tunisian political and civil society leaders to try to build a united front against the dictatorship of Kais Saied, and urging them to participate in the national presidential elections in October 2024. Publications, email and internet. Published and disseminated a monthly newsletter on the status of democracy throughout the Arab world, and especially in Tunisia, and published CSID E-mail Bulletin and disseminated it to approximately 25,000 people around the U.S. Part III, line 30 continued Other program services include periodic webinars and other public events on Islam and Democracy, as well as on the democratic backsliding in Tunisia.
