ETHIOEDER had number of deaths and burials that provided funding for these operations. Ethiopian Americans have an elaborate traditions associated with death and bereavement. As soon as the death news is announced, people start gathering at the deceased home, community center, or church facility to comfort the grieving family. Following this tradition, the ETHIOEDIR served several dinners (food and drinks) for the deceased families and friends. In accordance with Article 4.1 of the ETHIOEDIR Bylaws (The General Assembly), the members would be called to discuss the affairs of the organization.
