Financial services are paid to W.B. Britt, Inc. (S-corporation) ($2,400 annual) Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The Finance Officer presents to the Post Officers and members an annual budget for approval and formal acceptance into the Post's minutes. Monthly financial reports are presented to members and approved subject to audit. The Post completes and independent audit and review of the Post's financial records annually. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 The review and approval of the stipends for the Post's three officers and Boys and Girls State Coordinator is conducted as part of the annual budget and approval process. The monthly finance report presented to Post members documents stipends paid. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 Governing documents and Financial Reports are maintained at the Post Finance Officer's (Bookkeeper) physical address. They are made available upon request. Approval of financial decisions, monthly reports, amendments to annual budget, audit reports and other such decisions are documented in the Post's monthly meeting minutes. Minutes of the prior meeting are read and approved at next subsequent meeting of the Post. Copies can be made available upon request. Form 990, Part VIII, Line 2a - 2e Post 339 collects American Legion National Headquarters (ALNH) dues from members as part of the Post's annual dues collection. Payment of ALNH dues is required for members to be registered as American Legion Members. The ALNH portion of dues collected is remitted electronically to ALNH often in advance of dues checks being deposited to Post 339's checking account. Because of Dues increases by ALNH, the amount remitted to ALNH for the last FY exceeded the amount collected by $204. An internal audit is conducted yearly in accordance with Post Bylaws and American Legion Guidelines.
