Each chapter now has 3 officers to cover various duties (Chapter Administrator, Grievance, and Membership). Our organization recently experienced a complete turnover of our executive board, with each officer being new to their leadership role. While our current treasurer has prior experience as a treasurer for another non-profit organization, the previous non-profit operated on a different fiscal year. As a result, by the time we began preparing to file, it was already too late to meet the deadline. We deeply regret this oversight and are taking proactive steps to ensure it does not happen again. Specifically, we are adding a section regarding compliance to our procedures manual to ensure that all new officers are fully aware of the tax filing dates and requirements moving forward.
