This advance request ensures the monthly funding wired to Haiti follows the board-approved budget while simultaneously providing needed resources for program use in Haiti. One approved, the Board president or treasurer sends needed funds via bank wire transfer during the first week of each month. The in-country Haitian Director receives needed funds and maintains records of each transaction in Haiti. The US board president monitors this on a weekly basis. By the third of every month, the in-country Haitian director submits an expense report with receipts to the board president for the month prior. This report and supporting receipts are shared with the board treasurer, who enters the expense information into the accounting system and works with the outside accountant to ensure there is independent third-party review.
