The majority of the food is donated by Trader Joe's and Safeway. On a daily basis, they donate food that has passed it's "sell by date". Nancy's Project then distributes the food items to those in need. In addition to the donations from these large food stores, the local community donates food, clothing and other household items to the organization. These items are distributed, along with the food donations to the needy. Local exempt organizations (schools, churches and other organizations0 have been involved in purchasing and bagging beans and donating them to Nancy's project, and in collecting clothing and other household items for distribution.
