The travel costs incurred are included in the officers IRS reportable compensation. Additionally, the Board has authorized the reimbursement of the Federal and State income tax incurred by an officer due to the inclusion of the travel costs in reportable compensation Part I Line A Housing allowance, the International Union President receives a Board approved taxable monthly housing allowance of 3,000.00. Form 990, Part XI, Line 9 BCTGM maintains a defined benefit pension plan for its employees. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles GAAP require the Union to disclose the unfunded pension liability or over funding pension asset on its Statement of Financial Position. During 2024 the Unions defined benefit pension fund had an improvement to its funded status. During 2024 the other components non Statement of Activities items of the Unions pension cost increased the Unions prepaid pension expense balance by 2,003,758.
