Helped maintain housing for a family of five who were facing eviction due to adults in the family's inability to work due to injury and forcing them to be behind on rent. We provided legal resources to this family and helped settle a legal claim with the apartment owner while adults were able to stay housed. Family is currently enjoying stable housing without threat of eviction. 1500 1500 Provided legal resources to three students at UNCC facing eviction and discipline from the college due to exercising their First Amendment Right over community concerns about issues of displacement. One of the students was able to maintain their housing while two were able to maintain their path to graduation. 3600 3600 Community canvass and community meetings of 182 households near Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT) related to a rezoning and the destruction of historic structures near the airport. Advocated for communities at City Council meetings and Historic Landmark Commission meetings to maintain integrity of potentially historic neighborhoods near the airport that were created in the post-World War II era. A rezoning was withdrawn by CLT due to our advocacy efforts with the community in 2025 as a result of our efforts in 2024.
