These are are returned ,damaged and not able to be sold. A portion of these are used by the organization ( paper products, cleaning supplies, office supplies) A large number of these are given to our clients ( clothing, household items, school supples, hygiene items, small appliances, household good etc). A protion of these are shared in the community wiht other non profis in the area and local school systems.Donations of used clothing received from individuals are distributed out in the community.Leftover food from Chick Fila from chick fila are picked up and given out to clients and others in the community.Leftover Bread is picked up weekly from Panera Bread and donated to clients and others in the community. 73971 Grocery Program: The majority of the people we serve are food insecure. We realize that people are not able to work toward moving their life ahead when they are hunger. We have a program called bonus groceries and if a clients come to classes and or volunteer they get a grocery card ( on a weekly basis) to use as they want for food at a local grocery store. The gift cards can only be used for groceries.At other events we have such as our Summer Reading Program, Vacation Bible School in the Park, Easter Egg Hunt , Birthday Party for Jesus etc we provide a meal to all attendes and their families.We also have a senior lunch line each Friday. This is a drive through line where each person gets a hot meal, another meal for the next day and a bag of healthy snacks for the next week.We also provide meals or snacks in our classes. 6707 Kids Connection; For 8 Fridays during the summer when the local schools are out, we host a Summer Reading Program. Children from Prek through Elementary age meet with mentors one on one and practice their reading skills. The mentors (many who are retired teachers ) work with the children to develop their reading skills. Each week a guest reader comes to read to the children and encourage reading. Children receive books and other educational materials to assist them with their reading skills.For 7 Saturdays from June to September we host a Vacation Bible School on the Park. This is open to both our clients and any child in the comminuty. The children make a craft , do a food project and hear a Bible Story. The parents have a opportunity to play games and socialize at the same time.
