Dirk van Velzen, the CEO of the Prison Scholar Fund, suffered a number of deaths in his family, including his father, at the end of 2024 when the 2023 form 990 extension deadline expired. Furthermore, the bookkeeping service the PSF was using was no longer available, requiring the CEO to recover from family issues and secure a new bookkeeping service.
