Grants were made for essential household expenses, such as food, rent, utilities, car repairs and other household necessities. Active-duty military members and their families benefited from food donations in-kind and commissary gift cards. Total benefited persons were approximately 300, including dependents. 3180 1752 Communications and Special Events: The NewsGram is the newsletter of the organization. It is published eight out of twelve months to keep members informed of events and opportunities of the organization, including dinner and program events and speakers to foster comaradarie among all the United States uniformed services, news about college scholarship grants, veterans household programs of the Surviving Spouse members of the organization, Pastoral care from the Chapters Chaplain, etc. In additionl, the organization provided closed caption text of presentations and speakers remarks during the lectures for deaf and hearing impaired members and guests. In all, approximately 325 copies of the NewsGram are distributed electronically and via USPS mail for issue.
