Part IV, Section D, Line 3: The officers of the Foundation and the Medical Center maintain a close continuous working relationship, and because of this relationship, the Medical Center has a significant voice in the Foundation's investment policies, timing and manner of grants, and other use of income or assets. A Hospital Board Director also serves on the Foundation Board of Directors as a voting member. It is typical to see the Foundation activities mentioned or referenced at the board meetings of the Medical Center and the activities of the Medical Center mentioned or referenced at the board meetings of the Foundation. The Foundation is constantly monitoring the needs of the Medical Center in which it supports, and it is typical for 1-2 hospital board members to be board members of the Foundation. Before the Foundation begins the fundraising activities the Board requests a list of equipment from the Medical Center that the Foundation can assist with purchasing. The Foundation Board selects specific items from the list that they will assist with funding. The Foundation purchases the equipment they select with the funds raised from the fundraising activities.
