The library director provides a list of educational materials to the foundation for purchasing to promote creative thinking for the young children's program. 14000 0 0 In 2023, the library hosted children author Andrew Kolb -bringing in a public art project with the kids drawing themselves as a role playing game. The total cost of the event is around 18,000 the foundation committed to covering $14,000 of the cost and they were able to get another $4000 from SD Arts Council 304 0 The library requested funds for some adult programs that was not in the budget that the foundation has provided the funds to assist with the program to generate socialization with in the senior population- Pie Bingo it has been a big hit with the senior population 0 0 0 The foundation will provide funding to the library when the library coordinates an event or contracts a new service that has not been budgeted by the city. In 2023 the library was able to get a grant to host the NEA Big Read in 2023/2024, however the $20,000 grant needed to be matched, the library secured other funds from the Knight Foundation, Aberdeen Area Community Foundation, the library foundation committed to fund up to $8,750 so the library met their match requirements. The 990 is prepared by a former CPA who is on the board. The board is made up of professions who volunteer their time. The 990 is kept at the library and is available to all members of the governing board and to the public upon request Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 We currently do not have a formal conflict of interest policy. All governing documents and financial statements are kept at the library in the director's office. The board members have updated the board if they have a conflict of interest and will abstain from voting if the board action requires a vote. The board will discuss drafting a policy. The date of the month just slipped my mind, I was trying to get duties related to my paying job done before I left town for a family graduation and totally forgot to file the extension. I had every intention of filing the return on time, just needed in several places all at the same time, and just forgot what day it was.
