The Heat is Power Association (HiP) focused on promoting the common business interests of the waste heat to power (WHP) industry by educating policymakers and the public about the benefits of WHP, among other activities. Accomplishments include developing a new educational fact sheet on the benefits of WHP and holding general WHP education meetings with various officials at the U.S. Department of Energy and with the staff of 30+ U.S. Senators and Representatives. The WHP Fact Sheet and other materials relevant to the WHP industry are publicly available to download on HiP's website. The materials were distributed to HiP's mailing list and to key legislators/regulators. The Heat is Power Association (HiP) focused on promoting the common business interests of the waste heat to power (WHP) industry by participating in and sharing information at forums and meetings with other clean energy groups, including the Combined Heat and Power Alliance, National Clean Energy Week, the Clean Energy Business Network, and the National Association of State Energy Officials. The Heat is Power Association (HiP) focused on promoting the common business interests of the waste heat to power (WHP) industry by meeting with federal officials to discuss the implementation of key tax credits that incentivize/apply to certain WHP projects, among other activities. HiP held several meetings with officials at the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of Treasury to discuss implementation of the clean electricity investment (Sec. 48E) and production (Sec. 45Y) tax credits.
