Matt's Maker Space has continued our partnership with Carnegie Mellon University through the Leonard Gelfand Center, supporting the Center for Transformational Play. 30000 0 Western Psych $50k Our project at Western Psychiatric Hospital will be the third space in the organization. The first two were extremely successful, with over 75% of the entire mental health population utilizing the inpatient space and 100% of the outpatient population using the outpatient space. This outpatient space will be located in the northern outreaches of Pittsburgh. Mental health therapists as well as teachers will be taking patients to the space to complete activities. Western Psychiatric is so pleased with our partnership that they have awarded us 2024 Caregiver Champions for the 16th Annual Celebrating Champions gala in the fall of 2024. 50000 0 Our partnership at Pittsburgh Public Schools's Sci-tech involves the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering. Through this partnership, university students will be able to mentor the high school students in the Matt's Maker Space. In addition, the university has experience in running a maker space and will help the teachers at Sci-Tech with implementation, training and design.
