Part III response or note to any other line in Part III Part III, Line 28 Training for Imams and Religious Leaders in TunisiaThe aim of this project is to strengthen the capacity of Imams and religious leaders in Tunisia to promote alternative narratives to counter-terrorism, advocate for peaceful conflict resolution, civic education and gender equality, particularly with youth and other key community leaders. Training will be provided on the use of modern communication tools such as videos and other digital means to raise awareness, promote alternate mechanisms for conflict resolution, and develop resilience violent extremism. Training will also be provided to Imams on approaches for advocacy on the relationship between Islam and democracy. The foreign nonprofit grant recipient was CSID-Tunisia.(http://en.csidtunisia.org/) Part III, Line 29 Protecting Rights and Freedoms in TunisiaCSID organized virtual training seminar (webinar) for about 30 Tunisian lawyers on the protection of lawyers committed to defending human rights, under Tunisian laws. Brought one lawyer to Geneva and Paris to attend parts of the UN Human Rights Council meetings and meet with several human rights lawyers and organizations. CSID has worked with Mr. Abderazzak Kilani to register a new human rights organization in Paris under the leadership of Mr. Kilani to support the work of lawyers defending human rights in Tunisia. CSID has identified SIX lawyers and entered into an agreement with them to support their work and their legal defense of political prisoners in Tunisia, through an agreement with the Geneva-based Ctr. for Justice.
