This program helps students develop their abilities to think critically, communicate clearly and perform effectively. This is an opportunity for students to discover and develop their unique talents while learning about agriculture. We promote the betterment of agriculture through hands on experience for our youth at the Panhandle Youth Expo and Feed Cattle show. Students are taught discipline, patience, and how to care for livestock while they prepare them for exhibits. These youth fairs emphasize the correct humane handling of livestock and teach the business value of agriculture. Farm City Week is a time to raise awareness of the public about the importance of agriculture in our community. We used this event to increase understanding, cooperation and relationships between rural and urban residents. We recognized outstanding citizens who promote the betterment of agriculture by recogizing The Farm Family of the Year.
